Schladming - Styria's most
important ski resort and the center of the Dachstein-Tauern-Region,
ranks among Austria's top- five ski destinations,
having gained its international reputation by hosting the 1982 Alpine
Ski World Championships, the Special Olympics World Winter Games and
numerous Alpine ski world cup races.
The Dachstein-Tauern-Region
features 170 km of groomed runs,
(115 km of which are
in the connected 4 mountain ski
areas), and 88 lift facilities. But not only daytime skiing is
the attraction: skiing by night on a 3 km illuminated run on
