Schladming - Styria's most important ski resort and the center of the Dachstein-Tauern-Region, ranks among Austria's top- five ski destinations, having gained its international reputation by hosting the 1982 Alpine Ski World Championships, the Special Olympics World Winter Games and numerous Alpine ski world cup races.

The Dachstein-Tauern-Region  features 170 km of groomed runs, (115 km of which are in the connected 4 mountain ski areas), and 88 lift facilities. But not only daytime skiing is the attraction: skiing by night on a 3 km illuminated run on Hochwurzen is also available. For more details please see: www.planai.at

In addition to Alpine skiing the options are manifold.
