The Benedictine Monastery of Admont: Founded in 1074, this Monastery was built by Archbishop Gebhard of Salzburg. In 1776 it housed the largest Monastery library in the world. The buildings include baroque and neo-gothic architecture, and include a school, museum and old peoples home as well as the monastery itself. Walks and outdoor activities: Both easy walks and hard climbing can be combined in the Spital am Pyhrn. There are several huts marked and also a chairlift half way up the mountain. A summer "tobbogan run" (with brakes!) , can be used to get down the hill. Spital am Pyhrn is near Liezen. Tel: 07563 285. Tauplizalm (1650m) has a number of walks and lakes and is near Bad Mittendorf. Naturpark Solktaler consists of two beautiful valleys full of walks, history, old buildings, forests and lakes .
