There are several options for flying from the UK. The closest airports to the chalet are Salzburg, Klagenfurt, Graz and Munich. Flying from the UK, (London Stansted), Ryanair provides flights to Salzburg, Klagenfurt and Graz. Easyjet flies to Munich from London Luton.
Most of the airports have car hire desks. If you want to arrange a car in advance, you could try Holiday Autos. Driving times:
For detailed instructions please refer to the Chalet Handbook Salzburg: Take the E55 motorway southwest to junction 60 (Radstadt). Then the E651/146 road through Radstadt and Schladming for about 40 km until reaching Grobming. About 6km east of Grobming, turn left at the first proper crossroads at Tipschern (the right turn is signposted to Mitterdorf). Carry on for about 2 km past the Gasthof Fessler on the right. At the top of the hill, just before the forest, turn left onto a track, and take the next right. The chalet is second on the left. Klagenfurt: Perhaps the best way is to take the E66 west to Villach, then the E55 (to Salzburg) turning off at junction 63, (Radstadt) and following the instructions as above. Graz: Take the E57 northwest to junction 69 (Liezen) and then take the E651/146 west for about 20km The St Martin turnoff (right) is about 10km after the Bad Ischl junction. Munich: From Munich take the Salzburg motorway (E52-60) and follow the instructions above from Salzburg.
