The owner of Mirlhof chalet
helps to organise this week of orchestral music making in one of the most beautiful parts of
Europe- Ramsau in Dachstein, Austria. (Ramsau
is about 15 minutes drive from the Mirlhof chalet.) The week is open to string and woodwind players of an intermediate standard and above. Repertoire may include Haydn, Holst and Britten. Places in each section are limited, so get your entry in early! First class tutors will be present to lead and guide the sessions and sectionals which will be held in the Ramsau conference centre .The tutors include Philip Burrin of the Edinburgh Quartet, Gareth John, Rachel Mackison, Julian Marx and Alison Waller, The costs are £495 for the week. This price includes the course fee, all accommodation and food. It does not include flights. However, Ryanair flies to Salzburg. The centre is a modern building with an impressive stage and a variety of soundproofed and air-conditioned rooms which will be used for sectional work. It has already played host to concerts by some top touring orchestras. The accommodation is in the comfortable Feldhof farmhouse and Ischi Sportspension.
